Alfred 'Chip' Kahn IV | CEO, IP Commerce
“Not everyone who wants to, or can deliver, an open API or integration Lab will succeed. Developers don’t have unlimited time or resources and will not create applications on every platform. IP Commerce has the experience, people and process in addition to the technology to make sure our partners succeed and are first to market with clear and endurable advantages.
Efficient integrations to payment services are only a portion of the equation when providing commerce APIs. Ensuring the development community is enabled throughout their commercialization process is paramount and why we are excited to announce these enhancements to our platform.”
The Commerce Service Bus, a core component of the IP Commerce Platform, supports dynamic and flexible Commerce Business Rules, provides additional Value-Added Services to developer workflows, and extends the Federated Identity governance inherent in the Platform. The exposure of this component and features within, through the developer APIs, allow for the creation of new, innovative workflows by developers expediting their time-to-market and ensuring the appropriate services are available more rapidly than ever before. Use Cases for Commerce Service Bus
-
Risk Management as a Service
Connecting to the IP Commerce Platform, Risk Management providers are able to offer their services as a part of the process of adding more traditional payment methods…a single Platform integration, availability of multiple APIs, and new opportunities for innovation. For the Software Company, Risk Management workflows are now now easily added to any commerce integration to meet customer opportunities quickly.
-
3rd-Party Security Services
Software Companies and merchants have recognized the importance of securing their customer data. The Commerce Service Bus enables tokenization & encryption providers to offer their service alongside the services of traditional processors & acquirers or can extend the native services of these providers. No lengthy back-end integrations required to bring a service to market. For software companies it helps resolve compliance challenges more easily.

Serial Service Payments
When adding Value-Added Services to an open API, there is a challenge inherent in sequencing and controlling the transaction flow. The Commerce Service Bus enables Serial Service Payments to ensure the right services are leveraged, in the right order, enabling service-rich solutions that meet customers' needs immediately. For example, a transaction is initiated, runs through Sales Tax calculation services, is tokenized to remove cardholder data, and submitted for processing. Subsequently, certain non-sensitive data may be published to a separate application workflow accessible only to credentialed users.
With the Commerce Service Bus, and Federated Identity, Value-Added Services required for a holistic commerce solution are now available to the development community for rapid integration. Whether monitoring transaction status, performing transactional risk management, or leveraging 3rd party encryption or tokenization, Software Companies can make business decisions based on their customers' needs rather than as a result of technology limitations.

Card-Not-Present Debit
Adaptive Payments offers a unique service integrating Debit processing with IVR authorization and authentication for card-not-present merchants. Through integration to the Platform, their service can be made available in all Platform APIs. As a result, this service can be integrated at unattended kiosks. The customer can pay their bills using their debit card and be authenticated with IVR - ensuring a higher conversion rate for billers, potentially lower merchant fees and multi-factor security for the consumer.

Securely communicate user rights, roles and privileges across Platform providers and applications with Federated Identity services from IP Commerce. Whether you require Federation for Single Sign-On workflows today, or need to leverage 3rd-party transactional claims in the future, the Platform enables you to meet the demands of your customers and the payment providers they choose to partner with. Future payment innovation will be driven by intelligent and secure interaction between multiple parties with your software solution as the lynchpin. Learn More

-
Intelligent Integration Qualification
An intelligent registration process captures the business and technical requirements needed to help Software Companies quickly and efficiently begin a development project. A checkout-style flow streamlines integration and boarding efforts to speed time to market. These capabilities also enable Service Providers to cross-sell their services to a targeted market of interested, highly-motivated developers - resulting in greater transaction volumes.
-
Developer Settlement Clearing House
In many cases, application developers monetize embedded payments. The Developer Settlement Clearing House is a service that tracks and remits receivables to the developer on behalf of their payors; the key to emerging business models and "alternative payment" applications from the software community that use existing settlement networks.
Meeting your customers’ commerce needs requires a partner who understands your development needs. The free Platform Integration tools support your integration, regardless of implementation methodology or language preference. Multiple services and multi-channel support ensure your innovation is successful. Learn More

-
Secure Hosted Payment API
The Secure Hosted Payment API opens the door to a secure hosted processing workflow that allows Software Companies building line-of-business applications to include a brandable secure hosted payment page into a payment workflow – dramatically reducing PCI burden and development time. With the Secure Hosted Payment API developers can instantly generate a payment code/URL that includes configurable payment details, methods and terms directly from their application. The code/URL can be used to create payment-enabled links, buttons, invoices, work orders, emails – anything they want – then, payment acceptance is facilitated through a secure, online payment page. One API – a secure end-to-end payment solution.

Transaction Management Service API - Data Services
The Transaction Management Service eliminates the need for the Software Company application to store data locally by providing access to merchant transaction data for transaction reporting purposes, as well as for processing subsequent transactions, such as incremental authorizations, settlement, etc. Now, Software Companies can leverage this data service to create value-added workflows within their applications - getting them to market quickly while providing additional value for their customers. SSO APIs for Federated Identity
Federated identity enables users of one domain to securely access data or systems of another domain seamlessly, and without the need for completely redundant user administration. Using IP Commerce’s SSO APIs for Federated Identity, software companies and service providers use managed Federated Identity services in the cloud to partner and provide integrated solutions that customers value. These APIs provide Single Sign-On for applications and services across multiple parties and leverage the governance power of Commerce Business Rules through claims management, thereby delivering comprehensive federation capabilities through a single, low-cost integration.
-
SSO Toolkit for Commerce Modules
Commerce Modules, which are solutions built by developers and can be utilized by others on the IP Commerce Platform, typically are multi-channel (eCommerce & Restaurant for example) and multi-service (credit & ACH) integrations complemented with data, processes and workflows designed to meet developer’s needs. The SSO Toolkit for Commerce Modules enables software companies to build, deliver or consume Commerce Modules using a standards-based SSO framework that is easy to implement, and works seamlessly with other software and services built on the IP Commerce Platform.

-
ReceivePay Secure Invoicing
With ReceivePay Secure Invoicing, the team from Priority Commerce built the ability to send "Click-and-Pay" invoices directly from Quickbooks® and Microsoft Word…all leveraging the components of the Email Invoicing API.

Adding payment to software is only a portion of successfully commerce-enabling an application. Layering this integration with cloud-based business rules that tailor payment acceptance to match your workflow is the key to success and, in some cases, essential to the end-user. Commerce Business Rules leverage run-time and out-of-band data across the Platform to create dynamic workflows, and provide a governance framework for payment acceptance.Learn More
Payment Status Monitoring
Application developers are plagued by an inability to determine the status of transactions after submission. Payment Status Monitoring, an IP Commerce Platform Business Rule, enables intelligence to be built into the Software Company solution based on the actual status of transactions - saving Software Companies time and decreasing support costs related to integrated payments.
Payment Service Bundling
Application developers and their channels now have a simple method for combining core payment services and value-add services, into bundles. Service Bundles simplify delivery of multi-service offerings and create stickiness with end-users.
Serial Service Payments
Leveraging the power of the Commerce Service Bus, and the flexibility of Commerce Business Rules, developers can combine multiple payment services in fixed or dynamic sequences to deliver more value to end users. Serial Service Payments builds on Service bundles by providing easy access to additional in-line services, without additional one-off integrations.
