New card data security regulations, mandated by Visa and soon to be imposed by the Payment Card Industry (PCI) Security Standards Council, are requiring merchants to comply with a host of Payment Card Industry (PCI) Data Security Standards (DSS). Increasingly, if value added resellers want to continue reselling payment applications, they need to offer software solutions that are validated by Visa’s Payment Applications Best Practices (PABP). The PCI Security Standards Council will integrate Visa’s PABP into the expanded Payment Applications Data Security Standard (PA-DSS) in early 2008.
